About Me...
My name is Saray Moreno, I am Mexican American and a first-generation high school graduate and college student. I grew up in Austin, Texas for a few years, but I was born in California and am a resident. I’ve been attending ABLE Charter since 2017. Throughout my time in school, I’ve always made sure to stay focused on my schoolwork, making it my number one priority. My main goal in going to college is to make sure my parents don’t waste their time. I always hoped to go to an amazing college, but I began to deal with depression and anxiety making it much more difficult for me to focus on myself and school. I’ve learned how to deal with these issues by myself. During Covid, I struggled immensely with my mental health to the point where I questioned if my effort was enough. I noticed that this wasn’t normal, and I began to get to seek help. I’ve been testing out many different ways to improve myself. I began to go to therapy but realized that it made me worse. I started medications, then realized that they made me feel empty or not physically present. Over the summer between Junior and Senior year, I got my first job, I learned that I enjoyed keeping myself busy. Having my first job has helped me become less cautious of the people around me and become more confident. I enjoy playing soccer, I joined ABLE’s soccer team during my junior year and hopefully for my senior year too. I’ve learned that I enjoy creating videos, from my media arts class. Learning how to create and edit videos was so much fun, that I wish to explore much more in video production.

Hobbies/Interest
As a fashion enthusiast, I am constantly involved in the latest trends and popular items. In my free time, I enjoy shopping for new items to improve my closet or scrolling through Pinterest to get inspiration for outfits.

I love music, to the point where I do not think that I could live without it. My favorite thing is to find new artists to listen to. It's even more fun to listen to music live, which is why I love going to concerts, and being able to see how much effort these artist put into their art.
