ABLE students will….
• Find, evaluate, utilize, share, and create content using information technologies and the Internet;
• Develop and maintain a professional character as a digital citizen; and
• Create awareness of their digital footprints and how those affect others.
The use of technology at Able is such an amazing thing because it doesn't just let students do work much easier, but is also a great skill to have in the future. I've been going to Able since 6th grade. Which means making PowerPoint and Word documents, and even creating videos. I learned so many simple tips and how to be careful with what I do. Someone who spends their time online knows that when you put something online it will always be there, no matter if you delete it.
Media Arts 2
I decided to retake Media Arts, but it was considered as Media Arts 2. Mrs. Martinez asked me what I wanted to do as a project and I asked her if I could create a YouTube channel. I made three episodes, my only issue was that I felt my life was too boring to film. Making it difficult to make content with. I enjoyed being able to make content creation, it's something that I've always wanted to do. Having this class gave me the motivation to do something that I wouldn't have done on my own. I had to make sure that my content was something that people could watch in front of me to make sure I wouldn't get embarrassed. Your digital footprint is something that can affect you in the future, it could be something that you forgot about. During COVID-19, I went through a cringy Minecraft Twitch streaming phase, I ended up creating a small community, managed my accounts, and made some money from streaming.
